Whenever there’s a chance to get together with fellow fashionistas we jump at the opportunity and what better venue than the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) in Scottsdale. During our Women Who Rock event earlier this month we had the opportunity to mingle, lunch and network with FGI members and other fashion enthusiast before attending the exhibition. Courtesy of the MIM, we received a tour and learned some interesting facts about the exhibition including that it is on loan from the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame and Museum. Women Who Rock includes a bevy of beautiful costumes worn by music elite from a rhinestone embellished slip dress worn by Tina Turner to Lady Gaga’s famous meat dress she wore to the 2010 Video Music Awards. We even spotted a pair of shoes featured on the back cover of Cyndi Lauper’s album “She’s So Unusual.” The soles of the shoes are decorated with an image of Vincent Van Gogh’s painting “Starry Night.”
If you’re looking for something fun to do on the weekend or after a long day at the office, visit the MIM and check out the Women Who Rock exhibition before it leaves April 20th. You won’t be disappointed.
